Project Manager

Job highlights:

  • Manage end-to-end execution of IT projects, ensuring adherence to budget, schedule, and scope baselines using earned value management (EVM) techniques including CPI and SPI tracking.
  • Author and maintain formal Project Management Plans encompassing scope, schedule, cost, quality, resource, communications, risk, procurement, and stakeholder engagement management.
  • Develop and manage multi-level Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and resource plans aligned to project schedule and cost accounts.
Project Role

Project Manager

  • Build detailed project schedules in Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or Jira, including critical path identification, dependency management, and milestone tracking.
  • Conduct weekly and bi-weekly progress reviews; produce executive-level status reports with trend analysis, risk exposure, and forecasted completion.
  • Lead cross-functional teams including developers, architects, business analysts, and QA personnel. Develop and manage RACI matrices to clarify roles and responsibilities.
  • Apply PMBOK, Agile (Scrum, SAFe, Kanban), Waterfall, and hybrid delivery methodologies as appropriate to project context.
  • Manage client and stakeholder relationships; serve as primary point of contact for project-level decisions and escalations.
  • Oversee deliverable acceptance processes; ensure conformance to industry standards, client style guides, and applicable regulatory frameworks (SOC 2, HIPAA, FedRAMP, GDPR as applicable).
  • Coordinate change control reviews; evaluate technical and financial impact of proposed scope changes and present recommendations to senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities include:

  • Demonstrated experience with PMBOK, Agile, and hybrid project delivery methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with project scheduling and planning tools: Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or Primavera P6.
  • Hands-on experience with Agile project management tools: Jira, Azure DevOps, or Rally.
  • Experience managing project budgets, earned value reporting, and risk registers.
  • Working knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), enterprise application architecture, systems integration, and cloud platform services (AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to present to executive stakeholders and translate technical complexity for non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), or SAFe certification.
  • Master’s degree in a relevant specialty field.
  • Experience in IT consulting services or client-facing project delivery.
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks: NIST CSF, ISO 27001, SOC 2.

Required Education

  • A U.S. Bachelor’s degree (or its foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems Management, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a closely related specialty field. A general Bachelor’s degree without a concentration in a relevant technology or information systems field will not be considered for this position.
